S.S. Elisabeth

Space is the headline aboard S.S. Elisabeth. While European river ships must work within strict dimensional limits, this 110-guest vessel uses its capacity unusually generously, offering some of the largest suites found on Europe's rivers.

The two Royal Suites measure an extraordinary 506 square feet each. An adjoining standard Suite can be reserved to create a 759-square-foot, two-bedroom arrangement with a separate living room—dimensions that would be impressive even on many ocean ships. Standard Suites and Signature French Balcony accommodations are also substantially larger than typical riverboat rooms.

Elisabeth concentrates on the Rhine, placing castles, wine regions, historic cities and Dutch waterways within its normal cruising territory. It joined the Uniworld fleet in 2025 as the sister ship to S.S. Victoria.

Contemporary velvet, marble accents and original artwork distinguish the interiors from the historical opulence seen aboard vessels such as Maria Theresa. This is a cleaner, more modern expression of the boutique aesthetic associated with Uniworld River Cruises.

Three dining venues give travelers useful flexibility despite the unusually low passenger count. A main restaurant is joined by a more private dining space and a sundeck bar, allowing meals to change character depending on the day and weather.

Wellness has not been sacrificed to create those large accommodations. Guests have access to a pool, gym and massage room, useful additions when a day of walking through European old towns calls for a quieter afternoon.

All staterooms incorporate enclosed balcony-style spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows whose upper glass can be lowered electronically. This design keeps the rooms useful in cool or wet weather while still allowing fresh air and unobstructed river views when conditions cooperate.

Elisabeth's appeal is therefore unusually easy to define. It offers the intimate passenger count of a small river vessel but allocates space more like a much larger luxury ship. For travelers who enjoy river cruising yet hesitate over compact accommodations, it provides one of the fleet's most persuasive answers.
