S.S. Beatrice

S.S. Beatrice has a lighter personality than many of Uniworld's richly ornate vessels. Yacht-inspired woods, blue-and-white finishes, marble flooring and a Murano chandelier create an elegant atmosphere that feels crisp and contemporary while still retaining the line's unmistakably individual design.

One of the ship's most interesting spaces is also one of its smallest. Schubert's is an intimate 18-seat café at the bow, serving shared plates from lunch into the evening and drawing its menus from the cuisines of the destinations outside. It is exactly the kind of specialized venue rarely expected aboard a river vessel carrying fewer than 150 travelers.

The ship accommodates 148 guests across categories ranging from Classic and French Balcony rooms to Suites, Grand Suites and two Royal Suites. Its 2018 transformation into a Super Ship substantially refreshed the vessel and expanded the sense of variety aboard.

Beatrice is built for the Danube, Main and Rhine, giving it access to an enormous portion of Europe. Vienna, Budapest and other Central European cities can be combined with smaller towns, wine regions and scenic river passages depending on the itinerary.

Dining extends beyond Schubert's, with the main restaurant and additional options giving travelers more choice than the vessel's compact dimensions might initially suggest. Regional cuisine remains important, especially when Austrian, Hungarian and German culinary traditions begin appearing alongside the scenery.

Time between excursions can be spent in the lounge, fitness facilities or on deck. The scale remains unmistakably that of a river ship, so there is little need for elaborate entertainment when guests are docking close to historic centers and returning aboard after full days ashore.

Service and inclusions reinforce the boutique-hotel character associated with Uniworld River Cruises. The goal is to remove many of the small logistical decisions from the journey so travelers can concentrate on the next city, castle, vineyard or cultural experience.

Beatrice ultimately occupies a comfortable middle ground within the fleet. It offers the individuality and luxury of a Super Ship without relying on heavy ornamentation, making it particularly appealing to travelers who enjoy Uniworld's approach but prefer their European river cruise with a lighter, yacht-inspired aesthetic.
