Sonata

Ship Overview

Oceania Sonata represents the next major evolution of Oceania Cruises, introducing a new class of ship designed around residential elegance, expanded culinary creativity, and a more spacious modern luxury platform. Scheduled for 2027, Sonata is planned as an 86,000-gross-ton ship carrying 1,390 guests, making her larger than Vista and Allura while still preserving Oceania’s intimate, destination-focused identity. The ship is positioned as a fresh expression of the brand’s small-ship luxury experience, with reimagined suites, more light and openness, and a stronger range of dining and social spaces. Oceania’s official page lists Sonata’s 2027 build year, 86,000 tonnage, 1,390-guest capacity, and 922-foot length.

Dining will be one of Sonata’s most important differentiators, with La Table par Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, Nikkei Kitchen, The Grand Dining Room, Polo Grill, Toscana, Aquamar Kitchen, and Terrace Café all shaping a more expansive culinary program. The ship will also feature a more developed mixology experience, with Horizons, Founders Bar, specialty cocktail carts, zero-proof options, and curated beverage pairings. All-veranda accommodations, the new Horizon Suite, Penthouse Deluxe Suite, and larger Owner’s Suites continue the residential-luxury theme. Sonata should appeal to experienced Oceania guests, food-focused luxury travelers, and cruisers who want the brand’s intimate style on a more spacious, next-generation ship.
