Silver Shadow

Built in 2000 and designed for only 392 guests, this intimate Shadow Class ship offers one of Silversea’s highest space-to-guest ratios, giving her lounges, restaurants, open decks, and all-suite accommodations a calm, residential feel. A substantial 2019 refurbishment refreshed the interiors while preserving the understated elegance and personal service that have made the ship a longtime favorite.

Days aboard Silver Shadow can unfold without much structure. The glass-wrapped Observation Library provides a peaceful place to read while watching the horizon, while the Panorama Lounge shifts easily from a quiet daytime retreat to an evening setting for cocktails and piano music. The pool deck offers sunlit loungers, shaded seating, whirlpools, and a heated pool for cooler voyages, while the upgraded spa and fitness center provide another way to slow down between ports.

Dining is intimate and distinctly varied. La Dame presents French gastronomy through refined tasting menus, and La Terrazza moves from relaxed breakfasts and lunches to handmade pasta, seafood, and Italian wines after sunset. The Restaurant introduces both international favorites and dishes influenced by the voyage, while The Grill keeps meals more casual beside the pool with salads, seafood, and grilled specialties.

Evenings have a polished but easygoing rhythm. Guests might begin with drinks in the naturally lit Atrium, enjoy a production or guest performance in The Show Lounge, and then continue to The Bar for cocktails and conversation. Connoisseur’s Corner offers a more secluded setting for cigars, cognac, and whiskey, while the casino and card room add livelier alternatives without changing the ship’s intimate character.

Every accommodation is an ocean-view suite with dedicated butler service. Vista Suites frame the sea through large picture windows, while Classic, Superior, and Deluxe Veranda Suites add private outdoor space. Medallion, Silver, Royal, Grand, and Owner’s Suites provide increasingly generous living areas, larger balconies, and room for private dining or entertaining.

Silver Shadow is especially well matched to voyages through the Mediterranean and Caribbean. In the Mediterranean, her itineraries often favor longer stays and smaller ports along the coasts of Italy, France, and Spain. Caribbean sailings bring an entirely different rhythm, with island harbors, warm evenings, and relaxed days that make full use of the pool deck and outdoor dining spaces.
