Seabourn Venture

Ice-strengthened, purpose-built and carrying only 264 guests, Seabourn Venture approaches luxury cruising from an entirely different direction. The vessel joined Seabourn in 2022 with 132 oceanfront suites, each featuring a private veranda, and a PC6 Polar Class hull engineered for exploration in some of the world's most demanding environments. Rather than adding expedition features to a conventional cruise ship, Venture was conceived around exploration from the beginning, combining specialized equipment and extensive observation areas with the residential comfort, dining and personal service associated with the line.

The outdoors often provides the day's entertainment. More than 30,000 square feet of exterior deck space gives travelers room to watch for wildlife, photograph ice formations or simply follow the changing coastline. A fleet of 24 Zodiacs carries guests closer to places the ship cannot reach, while sea kayaks provide a quieter perspective on protected waterways. A 23-member Expedition Team of scientists, naturalists, scholars, photographers and other specialists leads exploration and provides context for what guests encounter along the way.

Meals provide a welcome change of pace after time ashore. The Restaurant offers refined open-seating dining, while The Colonnade provides a more casual alternative throughout the day. In-suite dining lets guests remain close to the view from their veranda, an option that becomes especially appealing during scenic passages. Complimentary premium spirits and fine wines, dining, gratuities and other signature Seabourn inclusions preserve the feeling of a luxury voyage even when the day's activities involve boots, parkas and Zodiac landings.

Exploration continues inside without dominating every moment aboard. The Discovery Center hosts lectures and expedition briefings, while the Expedition Lounge creates a more informal place to meet specialists and discuss the day's discoveries. The Bow Lounge puts guests close to forward-facing views, and Seabourn Square supplies a familiar setting for coffee, reading and conversation. An infinity pool, whirlpools, spa and fitness facilities offer a completely different way to spend an afternoon when a quiet day aboard sounds more appealing than another excursion.

The Arctic is where Venture's design becomes particularly meaningful. During the 2027 northern summer, she is scheduled to explore Iceland, Greenland, Scotland and the Canadian Arctic on voyages ranging from 12 to 18 days. Wildlife can include beluga whales, seabirds and other species adapted to northern environments, while long summer daylight provides extended opportunities for viewing remote coastlines. Eight Arctic departures are planned between June and September 2027.

The scale becomes considerably larger with the ship's first 94-day Pole-to-Pole Grand Expedition. Beginning in the High Arctic, Venture will travel more than 20,000 nautical miles and cross 147 degrees of latitude as she works south through dramatically changing climates and landscapes. South America becomes part of that transition before the voyage continues toward South Georgia, the Falkland Islands and eventually the polar south. It is an itinerary that demonstrates what an expedition vessel can do when the journey itself becomes as important as any individual port.

Life aboard adjusts naturally to those changing surroundings. Evenings may include a briefing on tomorrow's landing conditions, a photography presentation or a discussion with a naturalist rather than a conventional production show. Comfortable lounges still provide music, cocktails and conversation, but the ship rarely needs to manufacture a sense of occasion. A whale sighting, an approaching glacier or the first glimpse of a remote island can change the atmosphere faster than anything scheduled in a theater.

Eventually, the expedition reaches Antarctica, where Venture joins Pursuit for voyages into the Antarctic Peninsula and, on select itineraries, South Georgia, the Falkland Islands and Chilean Fjords. Zodiac excursions navigate among icebergs, guided landings bring guests ashore, and wildlife encounters can include penguins and whales. Seabourn's 2027–2028 Antarctic program includes 19 departures between the two expedition ships, ranging from 10 to 25 days, with signature experiences such as the Polar Plunge and Caviar on the Ice adding a distinctly Seabourn character to the polar setting.

What makes Venture compelling is the contrast between where the ship can go and how guests live once they get there. A morning might involve stepping into a Zodiac beneath an Arctic cliff or approaching an Antarctic landing site, yet the return aboard brings a private veranda, thoughtfully prepared meal and polished service. The vessel does not soften the adventure; it simply removes the assumption that reaching the world's remote regions requires giving up comfort along the way.
