Norwegian Viva

Norwegian Viva approaches the large-ship experience with a sense of openness that is immediately noticeable. Introduced to Norwegian Cruise Line's fleet in 2023 as the second Prima Class ship, she carries approximately 3,195 guests at double occupancy but avoids feeling dominated by enclosed corridors and crowded activity zones. Wide outdoor promenades, contemporary interiors, sculptural details, and panoramic gathering spaces allow the ocean to remain visible throughout much of the day.

The ship’s defining feature is Ocean Boulevard, a wraparound promenade on Deck 8 where dining, art, pools, and quiet seating unfold beside the water. Infinity Beach places pools close to the edge of the ship, Oceanwalk suspends guests above the sea on glass flooring, and The Concourse turns part of the deck into an outdoor sculpture garden. A walk around the ship can therefore become an experience of its own rather than simply a way to reach the next venue.

Higher above the water, Norwegian Viva takes on a more playful personality. The three-level Viva Speedway sends electric race cars around elevated curves, while The Drop offers a dramatic dry-slide descent through several decks. The Rush adds side-by-side racing slides, and the Galaxy Pavilion brings virtual-reality games and immersive activities indoors. These attractions add energy without overwhelming the ship’s more relaxed oceanfront spaces.

Meals carry the same mix of discovery and flexibility. Indulge Food Hall gathers a range of global flavors into one social dining space, while Hudson’s pairs complimentary dining with sweeping views from the stern. Specialty options such as Palomar, Onda by Scarpetta, Hasuki, and Nama Sushi create distinctly different settings for seafood, Italian cuisine, teppanyaki, and sushi.

The Viva Theatre & Club changes character as the evening progresses, transforming from a three-story theater into a nightclub with a dance floor, DJs, and light effects. Entertainment has included Beetlejuice: The Musical and the interactive Press Your Luck Live, while comedy, live music, and smaller venues give guests alternatives to the main production.

Staterooms range from Solo Studios and practical Inside rooms to Oceanview and Balcony accommodations, Club Balcony Suites, and premium suites. At the stern, The Haven by Norwegian creates a private enclave with an exclusive restaurant, lounge, sundeck, infinity pool, and personalized butler and concierge service.

Norwegian Viva’s outdoor design feels especially natural on voyages through the Mediterranean, where coastal cities and island scenery remain visible between ports. Seasonal Caribbean sailings bring a warmer rhythm to the same spaces, turning Infinity Beach, Ocean Boulevard, and the open decks into central parts of the vacation. Current NCL schedules include Mediterranean itineraries and Caribbean voyages from Galveston.
