The adults-only Spice H2O provides an open-air retreat for sunbathing and cocktails, while six hot tubs, swimming pools, sports courts, a jogging track, casino, and spa offer different ways to spend an afternoon at sea. The ship’s manageable layout keeps these experiences close at hand without making the day feel crowded or overly scheduled.

The atmosphere changes as the lights come up in the Stardust Theatre. Productions such as Women of Rock and The Wild Cards add music and choreography to the evening, while the interactive Wheel of Fortune experience invites audience participation. Elsewhere, live music, dancing, game shows, and lounge entertainment allow the night to continue beyond the main performance.

Dining carries its own sense of occasion. Versailles, with its sweeping ocean views and traditional design, offers a more formal setting, while Aqua presents contemporary dishes in a relaxed dining room. Specialty choices include steaks at Cagney’s, French cuisine at Le Bistro, Italian favorites at La Cucina, and lively tableside cooking at Teppanyaki. O’Sheehan’s adds complimentary pub fare around the clock, making it just as easy to stop for a late-night bite as it is to plan a celebratory dinner.

Accommodations range from practical Inside and Oceanview staterooms to Balcony cabins, Club Balcony Suites, and an extensive selection of suites. Aft-facing penthouses provide large private balconies and separate living and dining areas, while the ship’s three-bedroom Garden Villas offer remarkable space for families or groups. Butler and concierge service are included with several premium suite categories.

Norwegian Star’s more traditional proportions are particularly appealing on longer journeys through Africa and South America.
