Norwegian Prima

Norwegian Prima marked a turning point for Norwegian Cruise Line when she debuted in 2022 as the first ship in the Prima Class. Rather than filling every deck with larger attractions and busier public areas, her design places greater emphasis on open space, contemporary architecture, and a closer relationship with the sea. Carrying approximately 3,195 guests at double occupancy, Prima feels more refined and spacious than many ships of a similar size.

Much of the ship’s personality can be found along Ocean Boulevard, a 360-degree outdoor promenade that wraps around Deck 8. Guests can cross the glass-bottomed Oceanwalk, relax beside the water at Infinity Beach, wander through the outdoor sculpture garden known as The Concourse, or settle into a shaded seat at La Terrazza. These spaces make the ocean part of the experience throughout the day rather than limiting the best views to the upper decks.

Prima still delivers plenty of excitement. The three-level Prima Speedway curves across the top of the ship, while The Drop and The Rush offer some of the fastest dry-slide experiences at sea. Inside, the Galaxy Pavilion introduces virtual-reality adventures and interactive games, giving families and groups another option when they are ready to step away from the pool deck.

Dining has an equally distinctive character. Indulge Food Hall brings together dishes inspired by India, Italy, Latin America, and other global cuisines, served across a collection of small kitchens with indoor and outdoor seating. Hudson’s surrounds guests with sweeping stern views, while Palomar specializes in Mediterranean seafood and Hasuki offers a lively teppanyaki experience. The result is a dining scene that moves naturally between quick lunches, relaxed outdoor meals, and more polished evenings.

After dark, the three-story Prima Theatre & Club transforms from a performance space into a nightclub with retractable seating and a large dance floor. Entertainment includes productions such as Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, live music at Syd Norman’s Pour House, comedy, interactive game shows, and nightlife experiences that continue well beyond the main performance.

Accommodations include Solo Studios, Inside, Oceanview, Balcony, Club Balcony Suite, and suite categories, along with The Haven by Norwegian. The Haven occupies a private position at the stern and pairs some of the ship’s largest suites with an exclusive restaurant, lounge, infinity pool, sundeck, concierge service, and 24-hour butler service.

Norwegian Prima’s itineraries complement her strong outdoor design, with voyages through Scandinavia and North America offering dramatically different settings. One journey may place rugged fjords and Nordic capitals beyond the railings, while another brings coastal cities, island escapes, and longer sea days into view. Norwegian currently highlights routes that visit Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, and other regional destinations.

Norwegian Prima ultimately balances spectacle with breathing room. Guests can race above the top deck, dine their way through Indulge Food Hall, watch the horizon from an infinity pool, or spend an evening moving between theater, music, and cocktails—all aboard a ship that feels noticeably more open and design-focused than earlier generations.
