Norwegian Getaway

Norwegian Getaway has a distinctly social personality, built around open-air dining, energetic attractions, and entertainment that carries well into the evening. Introduced to Norwegian Cruise Line's fleet in 2014 and refurbished in 2024, this Breakaway Class ship carries approximately 3,903 guests at double occupancy and offers the kind of variety that makes it easy to shape each day differently.

One of the ship’s signature spaces is The Waterfront, a quarter-mile oceanfront promenade where restaurants and bars spill outdoors toward the sea. It gives Norwegian Getaway a more connected-to-the-water feel, especially in the evenings when guests can dine outside, stop for drinks, or simply walk the promenade between venues.

The upper decks bring a completely different energy. Norwegian Getaway features a large ropes course with more than 40 elements, including The Plank, which extends beyond the side of the ship. The Aqua Park adds waterslides and poolside fun, while younger guests have their own dedicated aqua and climbing areas.

Dining is built around choice rather than routine. Guests can move between complimentary dining rooms, casual venues, and specialty restaurants, while bars and lounges create a natural transition from dinner into nightlife. The variety works especially well on longer sailings, where each evening can feel noticeably different from the last.

Accommodations range from Inside and Oceanview staterooms to Balcony categories, suites, and The Haven by Norwegian, giving guests the option to stay close to the action or retreat into a more private setting. The broader ship still feels lively and active, but there are enough quieter spaces to balance out the more energetic attractions.

Norwegian Getaway currently sails a mix of Caribbean and Transatlantic itineraries, with short tropical escapes and longer repositioning-style voyages giving the ship two very different personalities depending on the season.

With its oceanfront promenade, standout ropes course, varied dining, and strong entertainment focus, Norwegian Getaway feels most distinctive when guests move between very different experiences in the same day—from walking The Plank above the ocean to dinner on The Waterfront and live entertainment after dark.
