Celebrity Wanderer is being shaped around the quieter moments of river travel: waking to a new shoreline outside the window, watching a city appear from the bow, or returning from a full day ashore to surroundings that feel calm and residential. Scheduled to debut in 2028, the ship combines warm interiors, open-air lounges, and a panoramic forward terrace with the contemporary styling associated with Celebrity Cruises. Hybrid-assisted power and next-generation hull engineering are intended to reduce noise and vibration, helping the vessel feel especially peaceful while moving between destinations. Its first season will focus primarily on the Rhine and the waterways of the Netherlands and Belgium, giving travelers access to historic cities, riverside villages, vineyard regions, and seasonal events across Europe. Celebrity Wanderer is scheduled to begin service on April 22, 2028, with a seven-night tulip-season itinerary from Amsterdam to Brussels. Later voyages will include Rhine sailings between Amsterdam and Basel, Christmas market departures, and a New Year’s cruise.
The panoramic bow terrace will provide one of the ship’s most natural observation points. Instead of requiring guests to climb to the top deck whenever they want a clear view, the forward-facing terrace and surrounding lounges are designed to keep the river visible from several levels. Shaded seating, open-air gathering areas, and the upper-deck bar and grille will give travelers different ways to enjoy scenic stretches of the journey, whether over a casual meal or during an afternoon between ports. Magic Edge will bring another unusual perspective to the experience. These cantilevered dining pods extend over the side of the ship, placing guests above the water with panoramic views during meals. Celebrity Wanderer is expected to offer eight restaurants and bars, an unusually broad selection for a vessel of this size. Familiar Celebrity venues such as Café al Bacio, the Martini Bar, and Sunset Bar will be adapted for river cruising, with menus combining international favorites and dishes influenced by the regions visited.
The ship will also provide round-the-clock dining choices and complimentary room service, allowing guests to eat according to their own schedule rather than relying entirely on fixed mealtimes. This flexibility should be particularly useful on port-intensive itineraries, where travelers may return late from an excursion or prefer a private breakfast before an early start. A complimentary continental breakfast can be delivered to every stateroom, and each room will have a minibar and packaged snacks stocked upon arrival. Accommodations have been designed to feel more generous than the compact cabins traditionally associated with river ships. River View rooms measure approximately 157 square feet and include fixed windows, king-size beds, and spacious bathrooms with oversized showers. Infinite Balcony staterooms range from about 173 to 179 square feet and use floor-to-ceiling windows that lower electronically, allowing fresh air into the room without sacrificing interior space. Traditional Balcony accommodations range from approximately 211 to 225 square feet and include step-out verandas with seating for two. The largest accommodations will be the Vista Balcony Suites, measuring approximately 258 square feet with separate sleeping and living areas, dual bathroom sinks, and private verandas. Skylight Infinite Balcony Suites introduce a different concept, placing an operable ceiling window above the bed so guests can look toward the sky while maintaining privacy when desired. All accommodations will include premium bedding, local bath products, filtered water, daily housekeeping, and evening turndown service.
Every suite will include dedicated butler service, along with additional privileges such as priority shore-excursion booking, specialty dining, upgraded beverages, laundry service, and exclusive social events. These benefits give the suite experience a more personalized identity without separating guests entirely from the intimate atmosphere of the ship. Outdoor areas will include a Sun Deck with shaded seating, a plunge pool, and an open-air bar and grill. An elevator is planned between the primary passenger decks, improving accessibility within the vessel, while stairs will connect guests with the upper deck. The combination of observation areas, outdoor dining, and a small pool gives the ship enough variety for afternoons onboard without crowding the limited footprint of a river vessel.
At approximately 443 feet long, Celebrity Wanderer will carry only 172 guests across 86 outward-facing staterooms and suites. Its appeal lies less in the number of attractions onboard and more in how carefully the spaces have been arranged around the journey. With broad views, flexible dining, residential accommodations, and a calm atmosphere, the ship is designed for travelers who want to explore Europe’s rivers without giving up modern comfort or personalized service.
