Celebrity Solstice now tells two stories at once. It remains the ship that introduced many of the features associated with Celebrity’s Solstice Class, but a major 2026 renewal has reshaped how guests spend time onboard. Every accommodation has been updated, The Retreat has been reworked, and new restaurants, lounges, entertainment spaces, and outdoor venues have been added throughout the ship. The result is not simply a refreshed version of an older vessel; it is a more contemporary interpretation of the premium, ocean-focused experience that originally made the ship distinctive. The renewed design is particularly effective on voyages through Asia and Alaska, where the landscape often becomes part of the day’s entertainment. Guests can watch Vietnam’s coastline from The Retreat Sundeck or take in glaciers and mountain scenery from the newly created Sunset Park. The ship’s panoramic lounges, upper decks, and outdoor gathering spaces allow culturally focused port days and scenic cruising to feel connected rather than treated as separate parts of the voyage.
Sunset Park is one of the most significant additions. The redesigned outdoor area creates a more versatile setting for drinks, casual dining, live performances, games, and movies beneath the stars. An expanded Sunset Bar gives the stern a livelier identity, while the surrounding seating provides space to enjoy the wake without remaining beside the main pool. This change gives Celebrity Solstice a more social upper deck while preserving the open-air atmosphere that has always been central to the ship’s character. The ship’s dining collection now blends established Celebrity favorites with several experiences introduced during the renewal. Fine Cut Steakhouse brings a modern steak-and-seafood restaurant to the vessel, while Trattoria Rossa draws inspiration from the theatrical dining rooms and classic Italian restaurants of an earlier era. Chef’s Table by Daniel Boulud adds a more exclusive multi-course experience. These new venues join familiar options such as the Main Restaurant, Oceanview Café, Mast Grill, Spa Café, Blu for AquaClass guests, and Luminae for travelers staying in The Retreat.
Evenings have also been given a different rhythm. Boulevard Lounge introduces dueling pianos, trivia, live performances, and interactive programming in a more intimate environment than the main theater. The Parlor takes a less formal approach, combining billiards, darts, board games, and social activities within the first game bar of its kind for Celebrity. Guests can still attend large-scale productions in the Solstice Theater, visit the casino, enjoy live music, or move between the Martini Bar, Passport Bar, and other established lounges. The original Lawn Club remains one of Celebrity Solstice’s most recognizable features. Real grass covers a large section of the upper deck, providing an unusual setting for relaxation, lawn games, and ocean views. The space helps distinguish the ship from vessels whose upper decks are dominated entirely by pools and activity structures. Together with Sunset Park, it gives guests two very different outdoor environments: one built around greenery and quiet recreation, and another designed for dining, drinks, and entertainment.
Every stateroom was updated during the 2026 renewal, giving the accommodations a more current appearance and improved residential feel. Choices include interior rooms, ocean-view staterooms, veranda accommodations, Concierge Class, AquaClass, and several suite categories. AquaClass provides spa-oriented benefits and exclusive dining at Blu, while The Retreat combines upgraded suites with private dining, lounge access, and an exclusive outdoor area. Celebrity has also expanded AquaClass and significantly redesigned the suite experience aboard the ship. Wellness remains an important part of the onboard experience. The Spa offers massages, beauty services, and restorative treatments, while the renewed Relaxation Lounge provides another dedicated setting for slowing down. Guests can also use the fitness center, outdoor pool, whirlpools, and covered adults-oriented Solarium. This combination allows the ship to function comfortably in both warm destinations and cooler regions where an indoor pool environment becomes especially valuable.
Celebrity Solstice entered service in November 2008 and measures approximately 121,878 gross tons. At 1,041 feet long and 121 feet wide, it carries up to approximately 2,852 guests and cruises at speeds of up to 24 knots. Its dimensions place it between a traditional midsize vessel and the much larger resort ships common today, giving it enough room for varied dining and entertainment without creating excessive distances between venues. The renewed Celebrity Solstice is best suited to travelers who want an established ship with a substantially updated onboard experience. Its appeal no longer depends only on familiar Solstice Class features such as the Lawn Club and covered Solarium. New restaurants, redesigned outdoor spaces, updated rooms, and more interactive evening venues give the ship a stronger identity of its own while preserving the comfortable scale and connection to the sea that continue to attract Celebrity guests.
