Celebrity Roamer is being designed for travelers who want the scenery and cultural access of river cruising without giving up the contemporary look and spacious feel associated with Celebrity Cruises. Scheduled to debut in 2028, the ship will carry approximately 172 guests across 86 outward-facing staterooms and suites, creating an intimate setting where the passing landscape remains visible from accommodations, lounges, and open-air gathering areas. Rather than treating the river as a backdrop, the ship’s layout is intended to make it part of the experience throughout the day. Its light-filled interiors will emphasize flexible spaces and uninterrupted views, allowing guests to move easily between quiet corners, social lounges, and outdoor areas. Celebrity describes Roamer as a ship created for guests who want to follow the rhythm of the river and spend more time absorbing the character of each destination. That approach should make the vessel particularly well suited to cruises through Europe, including rivier itineraries connected with the Rhine and Danube, where historic cities, vineyards, castles, and riverside communities unfold directly beyond the windows.
One of the most distinctive accommodation options will be the Skylight Infinite Balcony Suite. This new design incorporates a ceiling-mounted opening above the bed, adding another perspective on the scenery while maintaining the usable interior space of the suite. Additional categories are expected to include River View accommodations, balcony staterooms, and larger Vista Balcony Suites with separate living and sleeping areas. Every room will feature a king-size bed that can be converted into twins, in-room filtered water, local premium bath products, daily housekeeping, and evening turndown service. Suite guests will receive dedicated butler service, while all travelers will have a complimentary minibar and packaged snacks stocked upon arrival. Continental breakfast can also be served in the room, giving guests the option to begin the morning privately while watching the riverbank pass. These details reflect Celebrity’s effort to bring more hotel-style comfort and personalized service into the river-cruise market.
Outdoor dining and social spaces will play an important role onboard. Magic Edge dining pods will extend over the side of the ship, positioning guests directly above the water during selected meals and gatherings. Elevated deck areas and open-air lounges will provide additional places to enjoy departures, scenic stretches of river, and evenings under the open sky. Celebrity has also indicated that its new river vessels will incorporate advanced engineering and hybrid-assisted systems intended to support quieter, smoother sailing. Dining is expected to combine regional influences with recognizable Celebrity favorites, although the full list of restaurants and bars has not yet been released. Based on the design shared for the river fleet, guests can expect several distinct venues rather than one primary dining room, with indoor and outdoor options shaped around the scenery. The compact guest capacity should also allow service to feel more personal and less hurried than on a larger ocean ship.
Celebrity Roamer will be best suited to travelers who appreciate modern design, spacious accommodations, and destination-focused itineraries but prefer a smaller and quieter vessel. With only 172 guests, open-air venues, innovative balcony concepts, and an outward-facing layout, the ship is positioned to offer a premium European river experience that feels contemporary without losing the intimacy that defines this style of travel.
