Celebrity Ascent takes the Edge Series concept and gives it more room to breathe. Introduced in 2023 as the fourth ship in the series, it shares the dramatic outward-facing architecture of Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Apex but follows the larger proportions first introduced aboard Celebrity Beyond. The added length creates broader outdoor areas, expanded suite facilities, and more space around several of the ship’s most popular restaurants and gathering places. Spanning 1,073 feet and measuring 141,420 gross tons, Celebrity Ascent accommodates 3,260 guests at double occupancy. Despite those numbers, the ship is not organized around one oversized central promenade. Public spaces are distributed across multiple decks and designed to create different moods: the Grand Plaza provides an energetic social center, Eden looks out through towering windows at the stern, and the Rooftop Garden offers an open-air setting for dining, movies, live music, and sea views.
Ascent’s most recognizable venue remains the Magic Carpet, a cantilevered platform positioned along the starboard side of the ship. It moves between decks and changes purpose throughout the voyage, serving at different times as a bar, dining venue, viewing platform, or comfortable boarding area for tender ports. Elsewhere, the terraced Sunset Bar faces the wake, the asymmetrical Resort Deck surrounds the main pool, and martini-glass-shaped hot tubs are elevated above the surrounding deck.
Dining is a larger part of the experience than simply choosing between a buffet and a main restaurant. Celebrity Ascent includes four complimentary main dining rooms, each with its own design and specialty dishes, as well as venues such as Eden Restaurant, Fine Cut Steakhouse, Raw on 5, Le Grand Bistro, and Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud. The three-story Martini Bar anchors the Grand Plaza in the evening, while quieter settings such as Café al Bacio and the adults-only Solarium offer a different pace during the day. Accommodation choices range from interior and ocean-view rooms to Infinite Veranda staterooms, AquaClass accommodations, solo cabins, and multi-level suites. Most Infinite Verandas use a floor-to-ceiling window that lowers electronically, allowing part of the room to function as an open-air space. Guests booked in The Retreat receive access to an expanded private sundeck, dedicated lounge, and Luminae restaurant, creating a more secluded environment within the larger ship.
Celebrity Ascent is designed to work equally well on port-intensive European voyages and warmer Caribbean itineraries. On busy sightseeing days, the ship provides sophisticated restaurants and comfortable spaces to return to; during sea days, its pools, spa, entertainment, outdoor decks, shops, lounges, and dining choices become a destination of their own. Rather than relying on constant high-energy attractions, Ascent builds its identity around architecture, food, ocean views, and a polished resort atmosphere.
